Students who receive cosmetology and beauty school grants can use the money to substitute their tuition fees and cost of equipment associated with their studies. In addition, grants available to students studying hairdressing and cosmetology never have to be paid back; its free money for your education, providing you maintain the obligations for receiving the money.

You are probably asking “where to find grants for beauty school”, well, the first place to look for them is with the colleges and schools that offer training and qualifications in cosmetology and hairdressing. Secondly, professional organizations and associations related to the industry are generous providers of grants to help students gain their qualifications and training.

Grants form Organizations

As a leading organization in cosmetology education, the American Association of Cosmetology Schools assists hundreds of beauty school students each year. Grants from Schools and Colleges

Small independent cosmetology schools and colleges that offer courses in hairdressing and cosmetology provide a rich vein of grants. Some of these will be privately funded whilst other will derive from government funds for example:

  • The Kansa School of Cosmetology is a prominent provider of grants to students who enrol into their beauty school and hairdressing programs. The grants are awarded based on several criteria, which can include financial need analysis, academic merit or a combination of both. As part of the Paul Mitchell Empire, they offer programs to students both full-time and part-time and grants are given to support students’ tuition fees.
  • The Model College of Hair Design located in Minnesota is another leading school which offers grants to students, and offers a high quality cosmetology program including help to pay for on-campus residency.

In addition, if you are enrolling into an accredited school or college that is recognized by the FAFSA, you could also receive federal financial aid, which includes the Pell grant. If you are eligible for the Pell, you may receive up to $5,500 in grant money each year to pay for your cosmetology education.
